Graduate and professional students are automatically enrolled as members of CWRU’s 121 Fitness center at the discounted rate of $29+tax/month (even less for spring semester if you are able to use it over summer!). The membership fee is billed in a lump sum each semester. Financial Aid can be used to pay the 121 fee with the student’s permission. Click here for instructions or refer to the Student Financial Guide.

121 Fitness Center is owned and operated by the university (121 is a CWRU department). Since 1988, 121 Fitness has been known in the industry and the community for offering very professional, personal, friendly and clean services. We have over 3,500 members and more than 100 staff members.

121 Fitness membership provides you with full access to the center and amenities at no additional charge. This includes over 80 group exercise classes, lockers, towels, saunas, 28,000 sq. ft. of exercise equipment, babysitting, and more. Members also receive discounts on programs and services such as small group training (kettlebell, TRX, HIIT), personal training, Pilates reformer, massage therapy, sunless tanning, and more.

If you DO want to take advantage of the 121 Fitness Center membership, you do not need to do anything in SIS. You are already enrolled!

If you DO NOT want to be a member of 121 Fitness Center, simply opt out of the membership in SIS and/or follow the instructions here.

Degree-seeking, graduate or professional students who are not also employees of the university are eligible for the discounted membership.

Currently, there is not a way to exclude students out of state from the automatic enrollment. However, opting out is very simple and can be done in SIS. View instructions here. Or, email your name, student ID and brief reason for not being able to use the facility to onetoone@case.edu.

The membership fee for each term is billed in a lump sum. Financial Aid can be used to pay the 121 fee with the student’s permission. Click here for instructions or refer to the Student Financial Guide.

Financial Aid is permitted to cover the membership fee if the student authorizes that action. To authorize the use of financial aid for your 121 Fitness membership, click here for instructions. By doing so, any excess Financial Aid will be allowed to pay the 121 membership fee.

Any delay in authorization may result in Financial Aid overpayment being refunded, leaving the 121 membership balance unpaid.

In most cases, the 121 Fitness membership fee is not covered by grants, scholarships or departmental funding. Students are responsible for paying the fee. Information on payment options can be found in SIS or Student Financial Service's website.

Payments cannot be applied to specific charges. Due to Charge Prioritization Setup, the 121 membership fee will be paid after a student's tuition and fees for that term has been fully paid. Students can budget their payment plan installments to cover the 121 fee.

Payroll Deductions cannot cover the 121 membership fee, so the student should submit a manual payment for the 121 membership. Once the tuition and fee balance has been satisfied, the manual payment will be applied to the 121 membership fee.

If you were a 121 Fitness member via the Graduate & Professional wellness initiative the previous semester, there is nothing more you need to do! Continue to use your same 121 Fitness Center membership card and there is no additional paperwork required.

If you are new to 121 Fitness via this initiative or you were not a member the previous semester, simply come to the front desk at 121 Fitness Center with your CWRU ID. You will complete two short forms on your first visit. Within 24 business hours you will have a 121 Fitness membership card ready for you at the front desk. Use that card for access throughout the semester.

All graduate and professional students can try the facility for (1) one free visit. If you attend more than one time in the semester (even if before the end of the drop/add period), you are no longer able to opt out of the initiative for that semester.

Enrollment is for the entire semester. Dues are not prorated based on usage. We have many fitness and wellness professionals here to help you find motivation and/or time in your schedule to attend regularly!

The deadline to waive the fee is the end of the drop/add period. These dates can be found on the University Registrar website.

After this date, you are enrolled in the membership. If you have an extenuating circumstance (such as living out of state) and did not opt out of the membership fee before the drop/add period, email your name, student ID and brief reason for appeal to onetoone@case.edu.

After the end of the drop/add period, or if you have used the facility more than one time since the start of the semester, you are enrolled in the membership for that semester.
