1-2-1 FITNESS CENTER

Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition and Weight Management programs are available to both members and non-members of 121 Fitness Center.  Nutritional counseling can help with disease management/prevention, sports nutrition, eating out, pregnancy, weight management, vegetarian diets and label reading.

With the appropriate knowledge and guidance, you can change your eating habits to help you stabilize your energy levels, reduce your cravings, increase your mental acuity, and achieve an overall state of wellness.

Jennifer Pausch, 121 Fitness Dietitian, provides professional and confidential nutritional services to meet each individual's needs. Whether you are interested in weight loss, healthier eating or tips to fuel the body for specific sports or exercise, Jen can help you accomplish your goals in a safe and effective manner.  In an individual nutrition consultation, she can explore in-depth issues about your food and nutrition.  She will help you understand your dietary choices and the factors that influence those choices.  She can then develop a plan to assist you in all your food decisions.  Individual consultations are especially helpful for people with weight problems or medical issues including diabetes, cancer, heart disease and hypertension, or for those who just want to improve their diet.  Jen also can counsel clients on how to improve athletic performance through a dietary program.

In addition our Dietitian can work in conjunction with the fitness trainers to improve your overall health and fitness performance.

Cholesterol Testing:
121 can perform simple cholesterol testing for your convenience.  Cholesterol testing is performed using the Cholestech LDX system.  We can provide you a lipid profile (total Cholesterol, LDL and HDL levels) in only 5 minutes from a simple finger stick.
Cost:  $10 members, $15 non-members

RMR Testing (resting metabolism):
RMR testing can determine the exact number of calories you need based on your metabolism. From this number, we can interpret your total energy needs with activity and exercise, giving you a complete picture of how to develop your daily food plan. The RMR is helpful if you are frustrated with your weight loss progress since it gives you your most accurate calorie needs for weight control.
