Ski Conditioning!

 Join 121 Instructor Deanna Black for a progressive, high-intensity training program geared specifically for winter sports (downhill skiing, snowboarding, hockey, cross-country skiing)

A combination of strength, ploymetrics, balance, flexibility and cardio activities will not only enhance your performance, but also reduce the risk of injury. 

Not a winter sport enthusiast?  No problem!  This class will jumpstart your exercise routine for the winter!

 

Tuesdays  6:30-7:30pm

Saturdays  3:00-4:00pm

Join Ben Parks, competitive Muay Thai & mixed martial arts fighter, for this 6-week intense group training course. Ben will teach techniques from Muay Thai & Western Style Boxing. The class will be more instructional as it begins. As skills are learned and mastered, expect the workouts to become more intense. In a small group setting, you will safely learn skills & receive more individualized attention. There will be 2 levels of this class, as you continue to progress.

Running Club - Saturdays at 10 am! FREE for all!!

Are you looking to train for an upcoming race, get a great cardio workout, or just want to meet new people?  121 Fitness Center's running club is back and it is FREE for members AND NON MEMBERS!  The group is led by Jason Chuhay, 121 Fitness Trainer, and former collegiate varsity track and cross country runner.

Participants meet on Monday evenings in front of 121 Fitness Center.  Be ready to run promptly at 6pm!  A running calendar/schedule will be provided for all participants.  All levels are welcome!  We are happy to add more times if needed - email onetoone@case.edu with your time/date request.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 121 Fitness Akron Marathon Relay Team! 

121 Members Lindsey Reilly, Mark Joseph, Jason Chuhay (coach), Courtney Kirkpatrick, and LaShanda Korley finished 43rd out of 696 teams in their division and 87th out of 991 teams overall!  Great job!

Be sure to eat a light lunch/snack and stay hydrated by drinking fluids prior to each run.  Wear a watch if possible.

Self Defense Course

Started Sept 23!

Weds 7:00-8:00 & Sat 10:30-11:30

 

Join others in a small group setting to learn self defense techniques to help protect yourself.  Self defense training boosts confidence, teaches you to be more aware of your surroundings and helps develop your instincts and intuition. 

This is not a club or generic training.  LEARN FROM THE BEST!  Instructor Vic Roberson has over 30 years experience and studied under Dan Inosanto and other highly respected martial arts instructors including Edgar Sulite, Augustine Fong and Jang Soa Sun.

Vic has used his training and military background to educate others.  He is a licensed firearms instructor and provides training for private security officers, US Air Marshals and local police departments in all areas of protection.

The Case Walking Club! 

Tuesdays at Noon!

Let's Get Healthy Case!  Join 1-2-1 Fitness' Melissa Parks at noon EVERY TUESDAY for a 30-min walk.  During winter weather we will be walking either at Veale or 121 Fitness Center.  Contact us for details.

 

What a great way to start getting regular activity in your schedule.  Regular exercise has so many benefits and we are here to help you get on your way to a better, healthier, you.  

We are starting with 1x per week - EVERY TUES at 12:00 noon.  We encourage you to exercise at least 3 days per week and we are happy to help you fit that in your schedule.

Working out with others is a great way to stick with it and be successful!  We are here for you and will be waiting for you every Wednesday! 

"Don't have time?"  We don't accept that excuse!  We guarantee we will be able to help you find 30 minutes for physical activity.  The cost (your life, not to mention your pocket book) of not being healthy is just too high to allow excuses!   We also have a running club (see below)!

Are you ready to take it to a new level?  The Ultimate Challenge will get you   in the best shape of your life.  This class is intense and is for those already at an above-average fitness level.  You will develop in ways you never imagined possible- endurance, skill level, coordination, flexibility, mental toughness and mental stamina. 

The Ultimate Challenge uses variety, intensity, and commitment to take you to a new level of fitness.  It relies on muscle confusion - your never know what is coming next.  Classes include Muscle Overload, Kick boxing, Plyometrics, Yoga, Pilates, Core Training, and more.

This class is not for everyone.  You must pass a fitness test and sign a contract with yourself to complete the 6-week, 5-day per week class. We keep the class size small to give you individual attention, ensuring success.

Are you or someone you know getting married? Join Melissa Parks, one of our fabulous personal trainers, for some fun, yet intense fitness sessions designed to get brides-to-be in shape for the BIG DAY!!


Buff Brides Boot camp will meet 2 days a week for 6-weeks. Also includes a FREE 1-hour nutritional consult with a Licensed Registered Dietitian, body fat analysis, body measurements, health risk assessment, and a Buff Bride tank top!

Metabolic Testing with the MedGem

How many calories does your body burn each day? The 121 staff now offers you the opportunity to find out your resting metabolic rate (RMR) with the MedGem by HealtheTech, Inc.

What is RMR? Resting Metabolic Rate, or RMR, is the number of calories you burn each day at rest, with little or no activity, to maintain normal bodily functions.

Why do I need to know my RMR?  By knowing how many calories your body burns you can find your daily calorie target to lose, gain or maintain weight safely.

What is the MedGem? The MedGem is a handheld indirect calorimeter.  It safely and accurately measures your level of oxygen consumption and determines your resting metabolic rate (RMR).   

How does the MedGem work?  You simply hold the device and breathe into it for 10-15 minutes while seated and in a relaxed position.  There are protocols that are given to each participant prior to their test to assure accurate results.

There are Two ways to get the MedGem testing done here at 121 Fitness:

  1. Schedule an appointment directly with your Personal Trainer.  $30/test
